Marian High School Golf Team Places Fifth in Varsity Tournament at Huron Meadows Metropark
Marian High School's varsity golf team competed in a tournament on August 22, 2024, at Huron Meadows Metropark Golf Course, facing off against multiple strong competitors including South Lyon and Detroit Country Day. Despite challenging weather conditions with mostly cloudy skies, the team secured a commendable fifth position out of 11 participating schools.
Junior Pippa Dawson showcased an outstanding performance, scoring a low of 80, which earned her sixth place overall in the tournament. Dawson's efforts were a significant highlight for the Marian team. Other notable performances came from Ava Sanger and Margaux Etzel, who both finished in the top 20, underscoring the depth and skill within the team.
The event, featuring teams from schools like Ann Arbor Greenhills, Milford, and South Lyon East, provided a platform for Marian High School's golfers to display their capabilities against some of the best in the region. The team demonstrated resilience and skill, contributing to their overall fifth-place finish and showcasing the potential for future successes.
