Marian High School Championship History

Marian High School has a proud athletic tradition reaching back to it's earliest days. With the advent of Title IX in 1972, many local schools began to sponsor more robust interscholastic athletic programs for girls and the Mustangs have led the way ever since.  In 1973, Marian earned a Catholic League divisional championship in softball. In 1975, the tennis program won the sectional and CHSL championship and the next 16 CHSL championships! In 1977, the volleyball program won the school's first MHSAA district and regional titles. 1979 saw the tennis program finish runners-up in the state and nine years later, the Mustangs basketball program broke through for Marian's first-ever team state title.
