No. 4 Marian Tennis Advances to MHSAA Division 3 State Finals

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. – No. 4-ranked Marian Varsity Tennis has officially punched its ticket to the MHSAA Division 3 State Finals after a stellar showing at the Division 3 MHSAA Regional tournament this past weekend at the Cranbrook Tennis Complex, which hosted three top-five ranked teams, including the Mustangs.

Marian finished third overall with 11 team points, enough to certify their spot for a chance at a State Championship.

Leading the charge for the Mustangs came in doubles play, where the sophomore duo of Stella Glorio and Lexa Hindo delivered a dominant performance en route to capturing the Flight 3 Doubles Championship. The pair defeated No. 2-ranked Detroit Country Day, then followed it up with a win over No. 1-ranked Cranbrook Kingswood in the regional final.

Other notable moments included standout singles performances from Junior Caroline Torok, who reached the championship match in Flight 1 Singles, and Senior Anya Nix, who reached the championship match in Flight 3 Singles.

"I am so proud of the way each and every member on the team fought hard, stayed strong, and competed at Regionals," said Head Coach Olivia Underwood. "It was a dog fight to get out of this region and the girls rose to the occasion."

Marian did not lose a single set in the first-round—singles or doubles—demonstrating depth and consistency from top to bottom. Every player contributed points and momentum in what was a true team effort.

With Regionals behind them, the Mustangs now turn their attention to the biggest stage of the season: the MHSAA Division 3 State Finals. The event will take place Friday and Saturday, May 30–31, at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
