We are excited to announce that Alex Cocklin Coughenour, a powerhouse of Marian volleyball, has been inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2025. Alex was a dominant force in Marian athletics, earning four-time All-State honors and being named Miss Volleyball 2009. She played a key role in Marian’s exceptional 77-2 record and state championship victory in 2009, solidifying her place as one of the program’s all-time greats. During her time at Marian, Alex set remarkable school records for season and career kills, further establishing her as one of Michigan’s top volleyball players.
Following her high school success, Alex continued her volleyball career at the University of Akron, where she earned two-time All-MAC Honorable Mention recognition for her exceptional play. Her outstanding contributions to both Marian and collegiate volleyball have left a lasting legacy and continue to inspire future athletes.
Congratulations, Alex, on your well-deserved induction into Marian’s Hall of Fame Class of 2025. We are proud to honor your remarkable career and the significant impact you’ve had on Marian athletics.
The 2025 Marian Athletic Club (MAC) Hall of Fame celebration, taking place on Sunday, March 23, 2025, will mark the fourth consecutive year of honoring exceptional individuals and teams in the Marian Athletics Hall of Fame. This distinguished group of alumnae has demonstrated outstanding skill, leadership, and dedication in their respective sports, and they will be celebrated for their remarkable contributions to Marian athletics.
While tickets for the event are free, attendees are encouraged to register and contribute to the Hall of Fame effort. Registrants and sponsors will also have the opportunity to write personalized messages to the inductees through the registration process. Sponsors will enjoy a private meet-and-greet with inductees, including photo opportunities and a champagne reception. Hors d'oeuvres and light refreshments will be served to all attendees.
