Mary Rogers Miller : A Marian Basketball Legend and Wayne State Hall of Famer

[Bloomfield Hills, March 10, 2025] – Mary Rogers Miller '88, a standout basketball player who left an indelible mark on both Marian High School and Wayne State University, is widely regarded as one of the greatest players to ever take the court. Known for her remarkable scoring ability and leadership, Rogers led the Marian basketball team to a 42-8 record during her junior and senior years, helping propel the team to two state quarterfinal appearances.

Rogers' basketball journey reached new heights at Wayne State University, where she continued to showcase her incredible talent. She became the school's top free-throw shooter and shattered the all-time scoring record during her senior year, solidifying her place among the university's elite athletes. Rogers was a two-time All-GLIAC First Team selection and earned the prestigious GLIAC Player of the Week honor for her outstanding performances.

Her legacy at Wayne State is firmly entrenched, as she remains one of the top players in the school's history. In recognition of her exceptional contributions to the sport, Mary Rogers Miller was inducted into the Wayne State Hall of Fame in 2003.

Mary Rogers' impact on the game of basketball, both in high school and at the collegiate level, continues to inspire players and fans alike. Her legacy is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and unparalleled talent. 

The 2025 Marian Athletic Club (MAC) Hall of Fame celebration on Sunday, March 23, 2025 will mark the fourth consecutive year that deserving individuals and teams will be inducted to the Marian Athletics Hall of Fame. This distinguished group of alumnae has demonstrated exceptional skill, leadership, and dedication in their respective sports, and they will be honored for their remarkable contributions to Marian athletics.

While tickets are free of charge, attendees are encouraged to register and contribute to the Hall of Fame effort, if possible. Additionally, registrants and sponsors can write personalized messages to the inductees through the registration process.

Sponsors will take part in a private meet-and-greet event with inductees that will include photo opportunities and a champagne reception. Hors d'oeuvres and light refreshments will be served to all.
