Marian High School students wishing to participate in a WINTER SPORT must complete the following requirements BEFORE tryouts/practice:

• Register (select sport) on FinalForms.
  • Personal student emails may not be used.
• GET YOUR SPORTS PHYSICAL!
  • Download a form from MHSAA, or pick up a blank form at the athletic office.
  • PRO TIP: If you complete FinalForms registration, you can print a pre-populated form to take to your physician, eliminating duplicated entries!
• UPLOAD YOUR PHYSICAL to your FinalForms account. You will not be eligible to tryout or practice unless your coach can confirm your physical was uploaded and approved.
• JOIN SPORTSYOU! If you are interested in a team, or have joined, please download the SportsYou app and enter the team code.
  • SportsYou will be used as a primary communication tool for instant team communication, calendars and more.
  • Team codes for students and parents are on flyers outside the senior lounge in the auditorium hallway at Marian High School.
  • You can also email or contact the head coach or athletic office to get the code.
• PAY THE ATHLETIC FEE AFTER YOU MAKE THE TEAM: Each student will be assessed a $200.00 fee per sport participated in to help cover the costs associated with operating the athletic program at Marian High School.
  • Fee is payable only through FinalForms.
  • A convenience fee is added to cover payment vendor expenses.
  • PAYMENT IS NOT DUE UNTIL THE FIRST CONTEST. We encourage you to register your daughter for as many sports as she would like! Once she decides and makes the team, payment will be due before the first contest.
    • If your daughter would like to participate in more than one sport per season, special clearance must be granted by the athletic director.

ELIGIBILITY TO PARTICIPATE:

• Students entering grades 10, 11 and 12 must have:
  • Passed at least six (6) classes in the previous semester AND
  • Must have attained at least a 2.0 GPA in the previous semester.
  • Transfer student eligibility must be determined through the Marian athletic director.

BASKETBALL

• Tryouts begin November 18 at Cicerone Court.
  • Freshman & JV candidates: Nov. 18 & 19: 6:15-8:15pm
  • Varsity candidates: Nov. 18 & 19: 6:15-8:15pm
• Athletes must bring basketball shoes, gym clothes and water bottle.

SKIING

• Home Hill – Alpine Valley
• Practice begins November 11.
  • If no snow at Alpine Valley: Mon-Thu: 2:45-4pm at Marian HS
  • If snow at Alpine Valley: Mon-Thu. each week 3:30-6pm
• All athletes must have purchased a season pass. Equipment questions can be directed to coach Weymouth.

• Tryouts
• November 14 – 3:15-4:30pm. Please bring $5 cash to cover 2 games.
• November 18 - 3:15-4:15pm. Please bring $5 cash to cover 2 games.
• November 21 - 3:15-4:30pm. Please bring $5 cash to cover 2 games.
• Must attend all 3 days of tryouts, unless prior arrangements with Coach Leon are made 
  • Practices will be Mondays and Thursdays throughout the season, 3:30-5:30pm
• Athletes must bring lane shoes and a ball (or rent on their own), appropriate bowling attire.

FIGURE SKATING (w/ Detroit Country Day and Cranbrook)
