Bio
A proud Marian alumna of the Class of 1996, Heather Sofran is the first laywoman and alumna to lead the school in Marian history. In her role, Mrs. Sofran oversees all business aspects of the institution, including visioning, strategic planning, admissions, finance, fundraising, human resources, and marketing. Her partnership with the school's principal ensures the seamless continuation of Marian's mission and daily operations.
Heather Sofran’s connection to Marian High School runs deep. During her high school years, she earned both academic and athletic honors, leading to a full athletic scholarship to play volleyball at Bowling Green State University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in science and later earned a Master in the Art of Teaching with Summa Cum Laude distinction from Marygrove College.
Her professional journey is marked by significant achievements in education and administration. Before her current role at Marian, Mrs. Sofran served as the Assistant Principal at St. Regis Catholic School, one of the largest Archdiocesan schools in Metro Detroit. In this role, she managed day-to-day operations, provided visionary leadership in building management, marketing, and communications, and played a pivotal role in fundraising and program development. She also served as the school’s Athletic Director, overseeing numerous Catholic Youth Organization sports teams.
Expressing her enthusiasm for her role, Mrs. Sofran says she values the traditions, mission, and legacy of excellence that Marian High School has established. Her leadership is driven by a dedication to ensuring that every student experiences the same empowerment and transformation she cherished as a student.
