Dave Feldman is one of the most important figures in Marian athletic history.

On January 14, 2021, we lost athletic director David Feldman. In Dave’s 14-year tenure at Marian, his teams captured 24 state championships and 61 Catholic League titles. He was responsible for hiring, mentoring and inspiring countless coaches and student-athletes.

Everyone who knew him has at least one “Dave story” as he was one of the warmest and most personable people in high school athletics.

As a coach at Center Line St. Clement, Feldman led the boys’ basketball and softball programs for seven seasons and the girls’ basketball program for eight seasons. As a head coach, Dave earned 340 wins and four Catholic League basketball titles – two each with the boys’ and girls’ basketball programs. Feldman is a member of the Catholic High School League Hall of Fame as both a coach and athletic director.

Dave was active as a MHSAA and MIAAA committee member, but more than anything he set a standard for excellence on the field, in the classroom and in relationships exemplified by his “Be Awesome” mantra.
